The Power of Movement

In Kundalini yoga, movement isn't exercise for its own sake. A sequence of movement paired with a specific breath and a specific focus is called a kriya — and each one is built to do something particular, not just to tire the body out.

The movement comes first because it has a job: it prepares the body and the nervous system so that what comes after — stillness, meditation — is actually reachable, instead of a separate, harder thing to fight your way toward.

The work happens in the moving, so the sitting that follows can stay simple.
